Can Anyone Learn Reiki?

The magnificent simplicity of Reiki is that anyone can learn to do it. The attunement process opens  up each individual to activate their natural ability to channel life force energy. We are all natural healers. Some people are just more in touch with these inherent abilities than others. The Reiki attunement brings one in touch, again, with his or her natural healing abilities. By opening chakras and clearing away restrictions, the process dramatically increases one’s energy field and one’s ability to channel life force energy.

More importantly, it connects one with the spiritually guided aspect of Reiki. Channeling Reiki does far more than fill someone with life force. The energy is assisted by a consciousness that works to restore a person’s natural state of perfection on every level of their being.  It awakens a deeper awareness of a connection with all of creation and helps to bring one into a state of integration, peace and harmony. And it does all this without any active direction from the practitioner.

The same spiritually guided aspect of Reiki continues to develop the practitioner’s intuitive abilities and guides him or her  with new understanding.  The basic process of Reiki can be learned in a day, but the learning never really stops. While the energy is not manipulated by the practitioner, the practitioner uses all their learning and intuitive guidance to facilitate the healing process. Simply put, the more you do Reiki, the more effective you become.

Some people come to Reiki with more intuitive guidance than others. Some have greater experience in energetic healing. But this doesn’t necessarily mean they will be better Reiki practitioners. The wonderful thing about Reiki is that it is such an amazing catalyst for growth. I have seen people, with no background in any of these things, who have accelerated light years ahead of others once they started doing Reiki. The attunement seemed to bring a certain clarity to the totality of the experience of their individual life’s journey and, all of a sudden, they took right off! 

There’s no way of knowing and no basis for judging what a person’s abilities will eventually be. Anyone and everyone can learn to do Reiki. It’s simple. It’s easy. And it gets better every time!
