When I came to you a few weeks ago for my first treatment, I was aware that I had been holding on to some negative thoughts and energy and of which it was my hope that you would be able to help me let go. Over the past several years, I have been to therapy, yoga, practicing meditation, listening to CD's on the powers of positive thinking, all of which were helpful for my present and future, but did not seem to be helping me let go past negative experiences. Because of the stellar recommendations I was given about you, I was hopeful that you would be able to help me.

When you began the treatment, I was focused on releasing negative energies. I had no idea what I was in for! At one point, I could feel a vortex of energy over my left shoulder pulling negative energy out of me with such force that I felt dizzy, a little sick, and as though I was being pulled in the direction of the vortex. Those physical reactions lasted several moments while you worked to clear my heart and were suddenly replaced with an emotion of total and utter peace. I had a vision of sitting on a tree in my backyard, feeling extremely at ease with myself and with the Universe.  Throughout the remainder of the treatment, I felt that peace and have carried it with me since. 

I cannot thank you enough for finally relieving me of my burden! Because of your help, I have been able to pursue my creativity and become a much happier person. I walked out of your house that day feeling more “myself” than I had in over a decade. You are a person of an amazingly generous spirit. Thank you so much for your help!

Dear Don,

It was great to meet and talk with you and, as I said, I am looking forward to our class next week.  

I wanted to let you know, too, how I am feeling today and what your treatment allowed to happen in me. I have no pain where there was before. My lower back, my feet, my hip and shoulders. I have such lightness of spirit today I could fly! I couldn't wipe the smile off my face, if I wanted to. Not to mention, I slept like a baby. I would say our connection was truly positive and I am grateful to Paula for this connection.

I also feel with this treatment comes a better understanding for me, as a student, just what can transpire through Reiki. 

Your gentleness and kind spirit are a joy to be around and I wait patiently, but anxiously, for Saturday’s class.

Hi Don!

Just wanted to drop you a note to say thank you once again for the great class on Sunday! I really feel more connected to the energy now. I went to see my mom yesterday and gave her another Reiki session and then sent a distant healing to her this morning.  I let her know that I will send these to her every morning before I go to work.

Speaking of my mother, I have to tell you what she told me.... After class on Sunday, I called her to tell her that we sent her distant healing.  She said she didn't feel any different, but was grateful for the effort. She then told me that she wanted to tell me about something that happened to her last Thursday night. She said she hadn't told anyone because she didn't know what to think of it. Anyway, she took her usual heavy duty pain killers and went to bed that night.

Sometime in the night, she woke up and felt like someone was there. She was laying on her side and when she tried to get up, she felt a hand on her back pressing her into the mattress. She heard a voice say that it would be alright. Then as if she was out of her body looking down at herself, she could see her back flooded with bright light and these bright beings (so bright she couldn't make them out) were removing things from her back. She said these things looked like horseshoe shaped pieces of bone. She got really upset because she thought she was going to bleed to death from this "surgery" but after they were done the skin just melded back together again. She doesn't remember anything after that.

Well, I hadn't yet told her about your experience during the distant healing session on Sunday and I couldn't believe the similarities between the two.

(I had seen illuminated beings, sending beams of light into her spine with their finger tips. As the spine became translucent, they began to take it apart, piece by piece, and then to reassemble it, weaving new energy fibers into the spinal cord.)

Needless to say, after I told her about your experience, she doesn't think she was hallucinating from the drugs anymore! We both feel she had divine intervention and we hope they come back to fix her neck problems!

So, I want to thank you once again for everything.  In the beginning, I felt a very strong push to come and see you and be your student. I am ever grateful for that push.

Hi Don!! 

I've been meaning to write to you for so long, but with the holidays and working it's been a challenge!!  

I just wanted to thank you so much for my Reiki training - first degree!! It's been a great blessing at work and home and church. It's helped so many people!! Only 2 people have not benefited, and they actually did feel better, but did not realize it!! My husband and an old man from St. Matt’s Church.

I tried it on an anxious vent kid, with her mother's permission, and we could not believe how her oxygen SATS went up and she relaxed. I love doing it on babies, as they do fill up very quickly and relax.

I just wanted to wish you a blessed Christmas and all the joy and health to do His will every day!! Happy New Year!!!

I'll be back, best money I ever spent!! Also I do Reiki on myself and have a lot of energy!! 

The Syracuse New Times interviewed me on the phone and I told Allison, the intern, how great Reiki is in my life!!!

And thank you so much for the beautiful certificate and your nice note...Actually, I did want to mention something that happened to me after my attunement. About an hour after I was home I noticed that the skin on my hands, knees and feet was bright red and burning hot (like a severe sunburn). It wasn't painful, but more like the discomfort you get when you have bad sunburn. The next thing that happened fairly astounded me, bruises and thick red marks (like rope burns almost) appeared on my hands, forearms, and lower legs. They appeared spontaneously, I practically watched these marks develop on my skin as I can tell you, as a nurse, I've never seen anything quite like that happen. I had done nothing to raise red marks or bruises on my skin, and tried to photograph the marks (but my flash wasn't working and no one else was around at the time to take photos for me). Well, knowing how long it takes my skin to heal bruises, etc. I figured I would just have someone take photos in the am and went to bed. When I got up next morning every last mark was gone, my skin was as unblemished as it had been before these marks had appeared. Oh, I also felt a sort of pressure and burning in my chest and it was hard to lie on my back (I have a history of asthma but no attacks in almost 10 years now). The oddest effect I had afterward was my sense of smell, which is above normal on a good day, was way above normal. For example, I can generally smell a person's personal scent if I bury my nose in their hair. However, after the attunement I found I could catch this scent from 10 feet away, in fact, I put off shopping for over a week b/c it was so disconcerting to have all that olfactory information lol! That is mostly back to normal now, although it seems to have settled at a level slightly above what it was before. (if that makes sense). I have to admit I had a bit of skepticism about Reiki, but my after experiences shattered that. I look forward to learning more!

Dear Lilly,

There's a lot going on during the Reiki class. All through the class, intense energy is pouring into the space and working individually with each person. The attunement, itself, is a powerful experience. And then there's a lot of energy work in giving and receiving Reiki, in the hands-on practice part of the class. All of this work can produce a significant level of healing.  

Some of your responses were, most likely, the releasing of patterns within cellular memory. When cellular memory is intensely released, it can briefly produce symptoms associated with those patterns.  With the asthma, there were probably still some remnants of that experience that you were holding onto. The bruises, if not from some past experience, may be from a significant past life experience. Or, because all consciousness is connected, could be from someone else's life experience which has particular relevance to what's going on in your life now. Very interesting!  You might want to try some past life regression work to find out more. 

The heightened sense of smell makes sense because you went through some intense clearing. Glad to hear you'll be coming back for more Reiki training!
